Welcome to the Coco Dee Bo Tours and Internet Cafe website. We specialize in providing Tours and Activities on and around the island of Koh Chang, Trat, Thailand. Our website is designed to help you plan your visit to Koh Chang, and from the website you can of course also pre-book your transfer from Bangkok to Koh Chang, as well as your accommodation on Koh Chang and surrounding islands, and any island activities that you wish to reserve prior to your arrival here. Our divers are reporting some reasonable underwater visibility off Koh Chang, so there's an opportunity today or tomorrow to try an open-water fun dive. Going everyday by speedboat, you'll get 2 open-water dives and a lunch on Koh Rang beach for just 2,300 baht. If you don't yet have a diving qualification, then try the discover scuba diving experience where you'll get some training, and a couple of supervised dives for just 3,700 baht. Weather Report

It feels as if it's been a wet month, but looking back at the details, it seems as if we did have good number of sunny days, though lots of heavy rain when it did rain. The past week has been pretty wet, but today and yesterday saw some decent sunshine. Not the best time of year for snorkeling and diving, but still worthwhile when the weather's calm, and some guests have reported decent underwater visibility of around 15 meters. Some days have seen some strong breakers close to shore, and rip-tides can be dangerous at this time of year, so please take care if the sea is rough close to shore. When calm, then water close to shore is sometimes uncomfortably hot. For a more detailed weather history please look at our daily weather reports which we have been writing since October 2009.

The season

European school holiday time, and July and August does produce a mini-peak in what is generally the low season on Koh Chang (though we should call that the green season). Good waterfalls of course at this time of year, and everywhere does look so much greener now. All activities and tours (even snorkeling and diving) are available now - please come to see us when you're on the island and we'll show you what's available and what's a worthwhile outing. The taxi boats between Koh Chang and the outer islands of Koh Wai, Koh Mak and Koh Kood, are not running in the low season. It's possible to reach Koh Wai off one of our snorkeling trips, but in order to reach Koh Mak and Koh Kood you will need to catch a boat from the Laem Ngop pier on the mainland. A provisional timetable exists, applicable up until 30th September 2010, as follows:

Depart Laem Ngop for Ao Nid, Koh Mak: 12:30 (Friday and Saturday), 14:00 (every day), 16:00 (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu).
Depart Ao Nid, Kok Mak for Laem Ngop: 08:00, 11:00 (every day).

Notice, and with apologies, Oasis Seaworld will not be doing the SWIM with Dolphins until January 2011. They are, though, open for the show only during this time.

Let us arrange your private transfer from Koh Chang to Bangkok (or to anywhere), or to Koh Chang from your origin, and make a stop at Laem Sing for your once in a lifetime dolphin swim. Laem Sing is around 50 minutes drive from the pier for Koh Chang, and dolphin swims are scheduled throughout the day, so this is a great option for those who do not wish to make the day trip to Laem Sing during their stay on Koh Chang. The price for this option is 580 Baht per person for the swim and show. Your transfer price will depend upon the size of your group.

We have access to a small number of properties, plots of land, and boats for sale and for rent. We are only offering properties where we have personal contact with the owner and which are unlikely to be advertised on any other websites. We are not a property agent. We would work on the basis of introducing you to the seller, and we would be taking a commission from the seller only after completion of a successful transaction.

Coco Dee Bo Tours have been in operation on Koh Chang since 2005. We have 2 shops, where we offer all of the available tours around Koh Chang, as well as providing high speed internet access and other computer services. Our first shop is located here at Chai Chet on Klong Prao beach. In 2008, our second shop opened here, on the main road in Koh Chang Arcade, at Chai Chet.

 We offer free advice and information about all of the activities available on Koh Chang. You can book all of the tours with us, and we can also arrange your transport on and off the island, and to the neighbouring islands of the Koh Chang archipeligo. We can make your hotel bookings around Koh Chang, on the neighbouring islands, and throughout Thailand, including Bangkok. We aim to give our customers impartial advice and accurate information prior to selling any tour or service. For example, owing to the arduous conditions on the Cambodian roads, we would advise against any family with very small children from going to Angkor Wat at Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Private speedboats and wooden Thai style boats can be chartered through us for half-day, full-day, or longer excursions. We deal with 3 of the top diving schools in operation on Koh Chang, so make Coco Dee Bo your one-stop place for making your dive reservations.

We also have high speed internet with WiFi access, so from your own spot on the beach near our shop you can browse the internet and check your email from your own notebook computer. Or, visit our shop in Chai Chet (main road) for air-conditioned comfort and a selection of refreshments including fresh coffee, and soft and alcoholic drinks.

English, Thai and French languages are spoken by the owner Bo, and Colin, so you can be sure of no mis-understandings at the time of your booking. Inside our 2 shops we have internet cafes with up to 8 modern desktop computers and TFT monitors and we also have a WiFi access point so you can use your own notebook computer from the beach close to our shop, or from the surroundings of our shop on the road. Our internet connections run at a speed of up to 2 Megabits per second, and our customers often comment that our connection speed and reliability far exceeds any others they have experienced on the island. This is maybe because we have SHDSL lines which have much lower contention than ADSL lines and much faster upstream speeds. This means your video call to your friends at home should be much clearer in sound and vision. If you bring your own notebook computer, then we can give you wireless access to our internet connection, either by the hour, or by the day, or we can give you open access for your entire stay. Attached to our computers are webcams and audio equipment, and in conjuction with the Skype, Messenger, and Voipbuster applications you can easily keep in touch with your friends and family at home. We also have some small notebook computers for rent.
