Weather Report
No rain during the daylight hours for around 2 weeks now. Strong winds overnight, sometimes lasting throughout the morning. Misty high clouds most days, and becoming cool late in the evenings. Typical November weather for Koh Chang. Unlike the South and the islands of the Western gulf, Koh Chang has an earlier monsoon so it can be a good escape from those areas that have recently been hit by severe weather. Despite the sometimes high winds, the seas have been quite calm, with OK visibility in most diving and snorkeling spots to the south. For a more detailed weather history please look at our daily weather reports which we have been writing since October 2009.

The season
We've met several people who've come to Koh Chang at the last minute after cancelling visits to the South and the Western gulf islands. So, a good start to the high season continues, and most of the snorkeling and taxi boats are now operating every day. Still room for more in the Chai Chet area, and Whitesands looks distinctly busy. The downside to the onset of the high season is that all resorts will now have set their prices to the high season rates, though there are low season rates all year long at the Luxury Guest House in Chai Chet.
