Weather Report
At last we believe that the rainy season has finished! There's been little rain for the past 10 days, and recently there's been some decent sunny weather too. Despite recent memories, September 2010 certainly was not as wet as last year's and the impression is that the rain generally fell earlier in the year in 2010. I'll try to dig out some rainfall statistics soon, but, looking forward to the dry season to come, who cares?. For a more detailed weather history please look at our daily weather reports which we have been writing since October 2009.
If you're thinking of coming to Koh Chang in the next few days, then look for yourself through our webcam for the weather as it is right now, and view the weather images page for an idea about weather on Koh Chang in the recent past. Our weather report and forecast page now contains our own daily weather updates, 4 hourly weather recordings from the Trat station of the Thai Meteorological Department, as well as the current 10 day forecast from MSN.
The season
September has been very quiet, very few visitors, but looking forward you will have to be quick to get any remaining low season discounts as some resorts will charge high season prices from 1st October. October is a nice month on Koh Chang - decent weather and still very quiet. More snorkeling opportunities with speedboat trips commencing. Also the Bang Bao boat will begin a more regular service to the other islands of the archipelago. Do come to see us when you're on the island and we'll show you what's available and what's a worthwhile outing. Here you can read all of our previous weather summaries and news items.
