Weather Report
Weather summary for the past 2 weeks: Lots of rain overnight, sometimes we get torrential downpours with violent thunder and lightning. On some days the rain persists through the day, but mostly it becomes dry during the afternoon. Some decent sunshine on most days too, though usually pretty humid also, and with the temperature reaching around 34C, it sometimes feels uncomfortable. Wave height has been up to about a meter and a half close to shore on a couple of days, but otherwise quite low on most days. So far no sign of rip tides which can be dangerous at this time of year off the west coast beaches. For a more detailed weather history please look at our daily weather reports which we have been writing since October 2009.

The season
Koh Chang is now probably at it's quietest, so you could argue it's a great time to visit. If you turn up at any hotel, you will find rooms available, and you should be able to negotiate a price better than the listed price if you want to stay for a week or longer. We currently have good deals at the Klong Prao Resort, and from there you'll pretty well have 3KM of great beach much to yourself. We call this time of year the "green season", and the recent rain has filled the waterfalls which now have good flows. All activities and tours (even snorkeling and diving) are still available - please come to see us when you're on the island and we'll show you what's available and worthwhile.
