Weather summary for the past 2 weeks: Loads of rain most nights, sometimes with violent thunderstorms. During daylight hours, some rain on most days, mostly cloudy, usually humid, but some good sunshine too and then the temperature has reached around 36C / 97F. Only on one day has the weather and sea been bad enough for our snorkeling trips to be cancelled. Close to shore there's been some decent breakers off Klong Prao, and in these conditions bathers should take great care to avoid undertow currents which can be very strong. For a more detailed weather history please look at our daily weather reports which we have been writing since October 2009.
If you're thinking of coming to Koh Chang in the next few days, then look for yourself through our webcam for the weather as it is right now, and view the weather images page for an idea about weather on Koh Chang in the recent past. Our weather report and forecast page now contains our own daily weather updates, 4 hourly weather recordings from the Trat station of the Thai Meteorological Department, as well as the current 10 day forecast from MSN.
Koh Chang remains very quiet, and you can have beaches, taxis, and restaurants all to yourself. We call this time of year the "green season", and the recent rain has filled the waterfalls which now have good flows. All activities and tours (even snorkeling and diving) are still available - please come to see us when you're on the island and we'll show you what's available and worthwhile.
