Weather Report
The weather has remained exceptionally good for the time of year. In the past 10 days we've had lots of good sunshine, and very little rain. Rain that has fallen has generally been overnight or in the mornings. Typically, cloudy in the mornings, then clearer in the afternoons, with temperatures reaching around 40C. The sea is uncomfortably hot close to shore, and underwater visibility is moderate, maybe 10 meters at maximum. For a more detailed weather history please look at our daily weather reports which we have been writing since October 2009.
If you're thinking of coming to Koh Chang in the next few days, then look for yourself through our webcam for the weather as it is right now, and view the weather images page for an idea about weather on Koh Chang in the recent past. Our weather report and forecast page now contains our own daily weather updates, 4 hourly weather recordings from the Trat station of the Thai Meteorological Department, as well as the current 10 day forecast from MSN.
The season
Koh Chang is now very quiet, and you can have beaches, taxis, and restaurants all to yourself. We call this time of year the "green season", but the sparsity of rain means that Koh Chang's waterfalls are a little disappointing right now. All activities and tours are still available - please come to see us when you're on the island and we'll show you what's available and worthwhile. Any toubles on the streets of Bangkok are having no effect on Koh Chang and we advise our customers to avoid Bangkok city, and if staying in Bangkok overnight, to use a hotel close to the airport. We can book an airport hotel for you for as little as 790 baht.
