Weather Report
Since last week's weather report, we have had a load more rain. Yesterday, the 1st of October, it rained pretty well all day. Maybe what we saw was the periphery of Typhoon Ketsana which did reach Cambodia yesterday. Today there's a vast improvement, and let's hope it stays that way, though there's now another even bigger typhoon, called Parma, over the Phillipines. At his time of year, typhoons are moving westwards, but usually they blow themselves out once they make landfall over the Indochina land-mass.
According to the Thai Meteorological Department, in Trat Province, 1894 mm of rain fell during September 2009. 1130 mm of that fell in the first 7 days of the month.
Today, in the shade of the sun, the temperature is 33 degrees. It becomes quite cool overnight, down to around 19 degrees.
A snorkeling boat is going out most days, but seas are choppy with wave heights up to around 3 meters well of-shore. Close to the beach, there are large breakers, and some people have been surfing successfully from Klong Prao beach.
