Weather Report
Since the last weather update of 11th August, the pattern has changed slightly. We have had a few heavy downpours recently, but these have been mixed with some very good sunny weather.
I was looking though the webcam this evening and saw this beautiful purple sky, so thought I should add it to this latest weather report. The camera is pointing 90 degrees away from the sunset, so overall, the sky was quite stunning. We're now into late August, so the likelyhood of much heavy rain is beginning to diminish. It seems as if this wet season has been kind to those of us not looking for rain. Rain, when it does come seems to be very localised. We had a downpour on the road at Chai Chet today, but 300 meters away on the beach, there was no rain. The seas have been quite small in wave height, and visibility as reported by our guests when returing from Koh Rang for snorkeling is OK, at about 12 meters. Likewise, diving conditions are OK, not stunning. Daytime temperatures have reached around 32 degrees, and at night time the temperature is falling to around 21 degrees. If you're looking at the weather from our website, do not always rely upon Qwikcast which is consistently predicting thunderstorms, even for the current day, when it is in fact dry. If you are thinking of coming to Koh Chang in the next few days, then look for yourself through our webcam for the weather as it is right now, and view the weather images page for an idea about weather on Koh Chang in the recent past. Owing to the present good weather, our shop on the beach is open from 8am until 8pm, and the beach front webcam is now back on-line, though for the last 24 hours, it was down owing to maintenance on the ADSL line by our ISP.
