9th July 2009

Weather report

Chai Chet to Kai Bae 9th July 2009The last  3 days have been very sunny and hot, unusually so for this time of year. Rain, when it falls, will come mainly overnight and early morning. Between now and September expect a lot of rain, though it is unusual for rain to fall non-stop for more than 36 hours, so in a typical week-long stay on Koh Chang during the summer months, some dry and sunny days can well be expected.

Take care when swimming though; seas can be rough, close to shore, and there are sometimes very strong undertows. High seas and occasional strong winds mean boat trips are usually not running, though given a quiet spell, it is still possible to enjoy a snorkeling trip by boat to the southern islands. Daytime temperatures are around 29 degrees when not raining.

Dolphin Swim - Book early

Many are disappointed when trying to book the Dolphin Swin at Laem Sing because at busy periods it can be fully booked. To make sure you get to do this once-in-a-lifetime activity, then please try to give us around 10 days notice. If that means contacting us before you arrive on Koh Chang, then please do so via our contact page. Notice, and with apologies, Oasis Seaworld will not be doing the SWIM with Dolphins until later in 2011 - precise date not given by Oasis. They are, though, open for the show only during this time, and we are still taking bookings for the show.
