Weather report

For the past 2 weeks we have been away to the Western gulf coast and the Andaman Sea. Over on that side the weather at this time of year is generally much drier than on Koh Chang. To greet us upon our return to Koh Chang on 21st May was a torrential downpour. We had seen very little rain during our travels in the western gulf coast, so we knew we were home! The roles are reversed later in the year, say October to January, when Koh
Chang Trat will be drier and sunnier than the Western Gulf and the Andaman Sea. Today has been dry and some good sunshine and clear skies. Little wind.
Heavy rain in short bursts to be expected, with flooding in Whitesands and Kai Bae. 35 degrees when dry, 25 degrees when raining and at night time. High humidity. Sea visibility not good close to shore due to off-flow from rivers and floods, better off small islands to the south where divers report 15 to 20 meters visibility. Wave can be high when rainstorm approaches.
