How about a trip to see the beautiful Klong Plu Waterfall today? Or further afield, there are other falls accessible from the east side of the island. Over there we have Nang Yom, Than Mayom, and Khiri Phet falls. All of these present a spectacular sight during the rainy season, and none are a long trek away from a parking spot. Currently there is a 200 baht National Park entry fee that lasts a whole day and covers the entire island. So, you could in theory visit 3 of these falls in one day, for a single park entrance fee. Klong Plu waterfall is roughly 6km from Chai Chet, so from most west coast resorts is (just about) walkable. Otherwise a taxi will take you there for around 60 baht. For the east coast falls a hire car, or scooter, is the sensible transportation, or ask us for a private car for a tour around the island, including some of these waterfalls.
