Join "Jungle Man" Raht and his hardy companion "Monkey Man" for a not too strenuous walk into the Rain Forest of South Koh Chang. Here is what Raht himself says about the trip:
Jungle Briefing
The jungle we visit is located next to the Bang Bao Fisherman's Village to the South of Koh Chang Island. This hidden, natural paradise is called the Kongoi Jungle. It is a beautiful rainforest area that is part of the National Park. My name is "Jungleman" Raht, and I will safely guide you, starting in the south and proceeding northwards by foot. We will walk an easy path in the valley that leads us to the middle of the island. The path is a one-way loop that is almost totally in the shade of the rainforest.
Our day will last about 6-7 hours. Most of the trekking path is a leisurely walk, however, there are some areas that may require some climbing, crossing streams, walking on river stones or atop waterfalls. There are 5 of these Kongoi waterfalls and I have pioneered 10 trails throughout this area so that you can see them. There will be frequent stops along the way to observe wildlife or scenic overlooks. Some of what you can expect to see aside from waterfalls are giant trees, tarzan rope climbing, bamboo forest and herbal plants used locally in Thai culture. There are also several zones known for viewing monkeys,
birds, tarantula spiders, reptiles, insects and snakes.
I wish to share with you one of the most beautiful rainforest areas in Thailand.
Pricing for my jungle trek includes lunch, water, soft drinks, snacks and fruit. It also includes transportation to and from your hotel, and the National Park entry fee. In addition I will provide insect and mosquito repellent and the use of rain ponchos, backpacks and first aid supplies, should they be necessary.
I hope to see you for a day of trekking and that you enjoy your stay on Koh Chang island.
Best regards,
"Jungleman" Raht
